Stratton Mountain Resort
Spend days outside on the mountain slopes and evenings eating in the picturesque village and relaxing in cozy mountainside lodging.

Outdoor enthusiasts will find a selection of activities to entertain them at Stratton Mountain Resort. In winter, snow covers the mountain peak and 11 lifts provide skiers and snowboarders of all levels with access to 97 trails. In summer, embark on hikes, go biking along mountain tracks and challenge friends or family to games of golf and tennis.

Stratton Mountain Resort first opened in December 1961 with just eight trails and three lifts. In 1983, the resort became the first to welcome snowboarders on its slopes and it remains a well-known hub for snowboarding. Cruise around the impeccably groomed slopes. Novices will be particularly at home here with many trails geared toward them, though more advanced riders will also be satisfied with the selection of more demanding runs.

Several terrain parks provide an ideal setting for daring snowboarders to practice tricks. Start with the basics at Progression Park, which is designed for learning. Develop your skills at the intermediate-level Tyrolienne or Suntanner parks before trying out the top-to-bottom boardercross course known as East Byrnes Side.

Come here in summer to witness a different side of mountain life. Hike scenic mountain trails and ride the Stratton Gondola to the top of the peak for stellar mountain views. Play golf at a 27-hole championship course and sign up for lessons to improve your swing skills and short game. The resort also runs summer camps for kids, with programs including outdoor exploration, art and sporting activities.

Free music concerts are held on Saturdays from the Fourth of July through to Labor Day. Listen to regional performers and cover bands and take part in lawn games with fellow attendees.

At mealtimes, dine at some of the resort’s restaurants, which serve up everything from sushi and pizza to fresh seasonal fare. Pair your meal with tasty, locally brewed craft beers.

Stratton Mountain Resort offers various deals and packages, some of which include lift passes and accommodation. The mountain is about a 4-hour drive from New York City and a 3-hour drive from Boston. Find free parking at the resort.
