“I really wanted to give this place high reviews, but unfortunately the great pluses this property has (amazing location right on the water and views) are negated by an overzelous and controling owner. Prepared to be scolded, warned and admonished for many things a paying costumer would not in other stablishments. I.e. do not take the kayak out in the beautiful bay because it could be damaged by the coral..are u serious? Why have a kayak on the property if it cant be used. Or, dont leave the AC...

“The AC eventually cooled the room. The room was clean and the facilities were like an older 3- star hotel in the USA. We did not have breakfast and coffee is only available for breakfast patrons before 10am. There is only instant coffee in room. There were no washcloths which I should have expected. This is not somewhere I would want to spend more than a day but if you need a hotel after a super late night flight - it is perfect!!! ”

“We came here for a honeymoon and the hotel opened just four months ago! We were able to do laundry as it was in the middle of our trip. Really modern and updated rooms! Rooftop on the fifth floor to overlook the city was cool! Walking distance of many shops, restaurants, downtown areas, and ferry!”

“We booked the family suite, but after seeing it, and after the bad start to our stay, we left. Check in time was identified as 1pm. we arrived at 230, and were told that it wasnt ready. So, we sat for about half an hour. “I was impressed with the Maitai Express. Coming to Tahiti I had stayed in a different airport hotel and was extremely disappointed. I changed my reservations on my return to Tahiti but wasn't expecting much. I was pleasantly surprised, it was wonderful. Staff was amazing, cheery & helpful. “Location was amazing. So peaceful, quiet, and serene. Viewed sunset from deck chairs of our room. Small facility so beach walks not crowded with lots of tourists. Room a little small but clean and comfortable. Breakfast was delicious - all so fresh. Secured parking on site. Only suggestion is to make guard gate electronic so aren’t required to get out of car to enter code. ”

“Overall, I thought it was nice and comfortable. Google maps originally took me to the wrong place, but we got it sorted out. They seem to have a fair number of animals - besides a couple of dogs and a cat, I definitely heard a rooster as well. So it could be a little disruptive overnight when you're trying to sleep if you're not used to that sort of thing.”

“Our stay was wonderful! The hotel staff is very friendly and everything was super clean.
