“Carl and Christine were so welcoming. The room was excellent and very clean and comfortable. BUT we ran out of toilet roll. There was fruit, cereal and toast for breakfast and tea or coffee ad lib. Parking in the grounds. We were only here for 1 night for University Open Day but I would definitely stay here again. Unpretentious and very good value. I have a hip problem and Carl let me sit in the lounge until my wife and son were ready.”

“Staying here was amazing. The room was just what I needed for my one night stay in Durham. The bus stop wasn’t far away and was very easy to get into the city center. I arrived a little bit early and they didn’t even flinch to get me into my room. Highly recommend!”

“Described as a bed and breakfast without the breakfast. Very confusing accommodation with bathroom and toilet access or down the hall. Greeting was interesting but beds were okay for sleeping and mainly quiet. Pictures don't represent the rooms and expectations from advertising not met. Would not stay again even for one night.”

“Shared kitchen area was clean and tidy with the Lidl store nearby cooking via microwave was easy and straightforward. The bedroom with en suite was clean also and very spacious with a very comfortable armchair and a comfortable bed also. Instructions on how to get to the premises were perfect and accurate, even key codes worked with no issues.”

“A comfortable stay in a clean, basic room. I was dropping my kid off at Durham, and needed an affordable, nearby place. This came up on an Expedia search. About 30min away from her college, and we took the opportunity to drive 5 min down to Horden Beach for a walk, which is lovely. We checked in at the bar, which was busy. They were not serving food, but encouraged us to get takeaway (there's a Chinese chippy next door) and provided us plates and cutlery. Their drinks are inexpensive. The...
