“Carl and Christine were so welcoming. The room was excellent and very clean and comfortable. BUT we ran out of toilet roll. There was fruit, cereal and toast for breakfast and tea or coffee ad lib. Parking in the grounds. We were only here for 1 night for University Open Day but I would definitely stay here again. Unpretentious and very good value. I have a hip problem and Carl let me sit in the lounge until my wife and son were ready.”

“Extremely disappointing and distressing experience at Somerset Cottages, Sunderland. We booked and paid for accommodation but encountered numerous problems, including poor cleanliness, unfinished plaster and building residue, concerns about electrical socket fittings, and a shower that was unusable for approximately two days. We also had serious fire-safety concerns, including doors that did not close properly and an apparent lack of smoke detectors. We documented these issues with...

“About 6 students stay in the house. At 11.15pm on Wednesday 8th July I could not get to sleep because they were talking loudly and I told them to be quiet. they did. The same happened on Friday night at midnight I told them to be quiet, they did. Every B&B has milk sachets but not here. I was given a tin of milk but this was no good Dont come because of the noisy students. This house is situated in Ocean Road which is full of cafes/restaurants which are mostly Indian ones It is also near South...

“The apartment was a bit tired looking but otherwise fine for one night. Much cheaper than other apartments around. Location couldn't be better - right next to Digital nightclub. As for the deposit, previous reviews did irk me but I did get it refunded by 10 working days. Make sure to send them your bank details on arrival. Also their 26+ age policy really ought to be made clear on the listing. ”
