"Hotel was a relatively clean place to sleep and cleaning staff were pleasant. Physical condition of hotel needs work. Our key cards needed to be reset 4-5 different times because they randomly got demagnetized. Door to our room was physically difficult to open. Outdoor access door was supposed to be a card key entry, but they did not actually lock. Anyone could open the door from the outside. Front door staff were not attentive, carried on side conversations while checking us in and did not effectively address our key card concerns. "

"One of our favorite places for the Wife and I to go for a quick date night or weekend getaway from the house, kids, and dogs. Centrally placed in the city. Walk to a Blazer/Fire game or hop the bridge into DT Portland. Or stay in, and take water breaks for nourishment at the rooftop bar. Either way the Eastlund is your home base for your city adventures."

"Feels a little off the beaten path but still very accessible to the U of O, Autzen. Restaurant was delicious for breakfast. Lovely to be on the river. Nice looking pool, wasn’t open yet, but will be great during the hot months of Summer. Completely renovated, very cool vibe, lots of spaces to hang."

"It was perfect, everything was going so good. Staff members went out of the way to help us with assess ability shower chair and anything else we needed. Except next day there wad pool incident and pool was down for all three days. Lots people were disappointed about it but it was an accidence that happened. Otherwise view, beach, rooms, balcony were perfect. One more thing they should add to all rooms is AC. Very important for summer months. When it will be nice for the beach but you will need a AC in the rooms. "

"The Mark Spencer is not what it was. We have stayed here I think four times and the most recent visit likely will be our last. First kudos to the staff for being solicitous and very helpful. However our room was not cleaned well. We found an old soap wrapper in the bathroom, some lost headphones under the bed, and a spent coffee packet in the coffee maker filter basket. We didn't dare use any of the mugs or glasses in the room, some of which were visible dirty. Apparently the booking included a bottle of wine, which no one offered us. We didn't miss it but the principle of the matter is indicative. The breakfast options were nice to have but would have been better if the advertised fresh fruit had been available. We enjoyed a tasty breakfast sandwich but received it on an English muffin instead of the requested croissant. Not a huge deal but again, indicative of the attention being paid to details. Top notch drip coffee from Peru and a very good espresso helped. From check in to check out the staff uniformly were helpful and courteous. John greeted us out front upon arrival and when he learned that we were running late he most graciously helped us get our bags to our room, as we had to park across the street due to the garage being full. Easy parking which was nice. It saddens me to see what was a home-away-from-home fail to meet the standards we used to appreciate at this handsome old hotel."
