“Location was ideal for me as i needed to stay near family. Although there is nothing near by apart from Starbucks, Costa, KFC 10 mins away. The rooms were ok, bedding was clean Although underneath the beds was not. I found not nice things in there, like chewing gum, cigarette papers, French fries. I only used the rooms to sleep and shower. The main issue for me was the window latches were missing or very loose and i did not feel safe while sleeping. The windows are not double glazed. “The only problem was that my wife and I are in our Seventies year young, and during the cold spell early March, the room heater did not come on until 18.00pm. We were cold . We did not complain to reception because we know that the heating was timed set to come on.”

“Stayed here for 3 nights over bank holiday. The place is so nice. Lovely staff. Very attentive there is a bar, cocktail bar, restaurant, rooms all greatly decorated. Food very great. Would definitely stay here again”

“Nice spacious bedroom, although bed was not that confortable. Very friendly staff and bonus live mudic on the Friday evening. Overall very good value.”

“Large car park at rear but it was a large pub. Friendly staff and clean room. Food was good and well priced which was shown by how busy it was in the restaurant. The only negative at all for this pub/hotel was that when clearing tables after diners had left the waitress used what cutlery was left on the table to make it up ready for the next diners. How did she know that the previous people didn't sneeze on it or handle it? Not nice in my opinion”

“Breakfast was not good. Only 2 pieces of bacon left and 1 hash brown. Also was never told they charge you an extra £20 for checking in before 3pm. Luckily the receptionist did have a room ready so gave it to me without charging. This is something to look out for.”

“Everything about The White Lion is perfect, the cosy feel, the food, the staff, the rooms and even the customers that attend just makes it a perfect place to visit and stay. Would recommend to the highest level”
