“Mario was a great bird guide, but the tour was only on the property. It would be nice to have night tours and birding trips off the property. The internet service could have been better. The food was good, and the staff was helpful.”

“Highly recommend The Retreat hotel! It was gorgeous and the views breath taking. The staff was very attentive and kind. Will definitely go again. The tours were over priced though. ~400 per tour and while the locations were beautiful it was not worth that much money. Also note there is no food you can buy except for in the restaurants there. So grab some snack at the airport. But highly recommend this place. Even in the rainy season it was amazing ”

“Hotel owners, both husband and wife and their staff were really helpful and friendly. Property is really well maintained with diverse flowering plants and villa room we stayed in is very spacious and clean. Even though it is still the wet season, temperature was really pleasant and A/C wasn’t needed to sleep well. Very peaceful environment and walking distance to town square. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a place to getaway and relax.”

“Absolute gem, with the owner, Edward, being the best part. He came to the airport to pick us up, even being a late flight, and stopped off at a supermarket so we could get a few things to eat. The next day he drove us to pick up our vehicle. The accommodation was lovely, everything you need in a clean, beautiful place.I highly recommend staying here 😊”
