Akatsuka Orchid Gardens Tours

We stayed in the Garden room and found it to be a little peace of paradise all on its own. The host was absolutely fabulous, he would come over in the morning and get the coffee going, gave us an itinerary of events going on for each day of the week. On Monday he hosted a bonfire bbq, with drinks, food, and entertainment. We felt very welcome here. One of the highlights beyond the awesome hot tub in the jungle was the outdoor shower, now I want one at my house. This will definitely be our Hawaii home for every trip to the big island. I couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay or a better time staying there. Absolutely the best resort I’ve been to.

Beautifully maintained property. Large rooms and perfectly prepared. Don't miss the hot tub. A nice soak out in nature with all the soothing sounds. The staff were all very welcoming and helpful! Going beyond the necessary. I stayed through a passing hurricane and they made certain i was well prepared for any potential problems and even prepared a meal in advance just in case, no charge. I highly recommend the lodge and thankfull to all the folks there!

If you're looking for a truly quiet and secluded getaway, look no further. You will feel like you're the only house on the planet. At first I was weary of the weather, but I found that the rain makes this place even more cozy and charming! Listening to the pitter patter on the roof with the windows open helped me sleep like a baby. Not to mention enjoying the gorgeous cooler temps in what I call the second living room which is outside! The hot tub was suuuuch a vibe with the string lights at night. We got to speak with Scott, the housekeeper, a little bit and he was such a nice guy! Little surprises came with our stay too: a free book (which is actually a reaaaally good fiction about Big Island!), 12 farm fresh eggs, croissants, brand new milk in the fridge, little Hawaiian sodas... They went all out to make us feel like we were at home! I miss this place already.
