"Very reasonable price. Near downtown Newport vs. other Middletown hotels. Breakfast sandwiches were just adequate. Microwaved food is rarely good."

"This property is still undergoing major renovations. The new furnishings are lovely and tasteful. However, there's still LOTS of work to be done. A lot of little things aren't ready or working yet. Faulty room keys, non- working elevators and whirlpool, no handsoap in the bathroom, no ability to order from the bar and charge your room. At 5:45 am there was a beeping noise out side my window. I think it was the workers staging a project. I had to call down to Front Desk to get the beeping to stop. The Tuck Shop - where you can purchase coffee and a snack is only open a couple hours a day. The bar isn't fully stocked. That said, the staff are all very kind and helpful - as much as possible. The spa is well-appointed and a worthy addition to the property, but the upbeat music from the pool area seeps into the spa area and clashes with the soft new age music playing there. It's going to all eventually be wonderful. Hotel Viking just needs some time. "

"The room was so cute and clean. I've been in several "suites" at other hotels that basically had a bed and a couch in the same room. This has a little living room and the bedroom is separate. Everything was clean and it smelled clean when I walked in. They have designated parking in front of your door, which is great because you don't have to search for a parking spot and not end up far from your room. There are no amenities at this hotel or food. However, you know this information when you researched the hotel. It is perfect for a family to come and stay and spend their day out and about exploring the area. Even for multiple nights. We will stay here again if we decide to have a close getaway."

"We have a very high energy 8 year old boy. The staff thought the resort, more so at the front desk where so great with him. They talked with him and enjoyed his daily stories about what we did while out exploring. The staff will have us coming back for sure, they went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable, they were very helpful when we were looking for places to go and explore. Highly recommend based on staffing alone! The resort was very clean with really nice amenities. On site restaurant, outside bar area with a fire pit. We used the comfy seating but it was pre season for the outdoor bar to be opened. They have construction going on but it didn’t impact the atmosphere or the guests comfort. The indoor pool was nice and clean, our son enjoyed swimming each day. We will go back to this resort and enjoy Newport and the places we didn’t get to see!"

"Great staff, hotel was beautiful and extremely clean! The rooms were spacious and very clean! Breakfast had a good variety to choose from. There is a pool and hot tub which was nice to be able to go relax after a busy day. I would definitely go back if I’m in the area and recommend to friends."
