“The Woolly Sheep is a lovely base for a trip to Skipton and the surrounding area. The rooms are spacious, well decorated and maintained with plenty of storage available should you need it. “Lovely quiet location, superb room in the cottage opposite the main pub. Food was lovely and catered for my gluten free requirements. We only stayed one night but would love to go back with our dog and check out the local walks for a weekend.”

“The best asset of the property is its location. Specially, if you have a room facing the canal site, which is quieter the staff are very friendly and enthusiastic to help. That does not overcome the fact that if you have a room on the third floor you have to lugg your suitcase, up four flights of stairs. Rooms start on the second floor. You want room the second floor . I did not have hot water for my shower and did report this to the staff, but there was no resolution. I did however have hot...

“Arrived Monday afternoon, member of staff said the chef had done a runner, on the Tuesday another member of staff said the chef had a day off, on the Wednesday another member of staff said the chef had taken an extra day off and offered us tea and coffee and cornflakes foc. The bar closed at 5 so if you wanted an evening meal you had to order early, that is if the chef was in. Sorry i cant give this hotel a rating, and the shower was hopless.”

“Rooms beautifully appointed. Staff friendly. Breakfasts good quality. Some rooms face a road but we weren’t disturbed by late night traffic. Meals in the Fence Gate Inn reasonably priced and of good quality. Would definitely return”

“We arrived at the property to find that we had been double booked and no room was available as the property was now full. We had to find alternative accommodation in the area and we luckily found one property that had one room left. Grassington lodge offered no help in finding alternative accommodation due to their error. Extremely disappointed with how it was all handled and how we was treated and we would never use or recommend this property in the future.”

“Lovely hotel / pub in a very scenic location. Beautiful views. We had 2 cottages for our extended family group of 7 adults/ 4 children. Spent the afternoon enjoying the patio drinks and watching the water flow. Had a delicious Sunday dinner in the lovely upper dining room. Beds were comfortable and had everything we needed . Would definitely stay again .”
