It was a quick and easy check in. Staff were all friendly and helpful. Room was fine for our needs.
Slight niggles - we booked a twin bedroom with 'deep soaking bathtub'. It was a double and a single bed instead with shower only, the bathroom was so small the shower door didn't open fully and just hit the toilet. (Curiously, the bathroom had no mirror, which just seems odd to me.) Made getting changed in private a little less comfortable than usual. We didn't raise the issue as we were only staying one night and weren't in much, but would put me off booking with them for any future trips with the kids.
It was generally tidy, but I kept ending up with white hairs all over my socks and there was a hairgrip in the middle of the bathroom floor so I wasn't convinced it has been hoovered thoroughly. Paper cups for tea and coffee were also off putting.
There were short staffed, so the guy from reception dealt with us at breakfast., he did a decent job, we'd booked continental breakfasts, but the hotel had started doing cooked again and I think to make their own lives easier, that was the choice. i was okay with the cooked instead and they did provide cereal for my son, but he had been looking forward to the croissants.
Staff stood around the reception area and complained about things.
So overall, it was cheap, and fine, but there were just too many little annoyances and nothing particularly special about the place to tempt us back.
