โPros: Friendly staff. Fantastic English breakfast. Great location, walking distance from the ferry terminal and all stores near the Stronmess waterfront. Even without an elevator, the parking location made it easy to access the room. Beds were clean and comfortable. Showers had nice high water pressure that gave a massage feeling.
Cons: The building is historic, so the floors had older carpet. Newer flooring, e.g. newer carpet or luxury vinyl plank could improve the stay experience.

โThe was a very comfortable and cozy hotel. I had a great time here. I found it impeccably clean, and the cleaning staff was very friendly and helpful. It's walking distance from the downtown shopping area, but still pretty quiet. There is a lovely lounge and bar area that is very comfortable and welcoming. The shower worked very well too. I would love to stay here again!โ
โHotel was on the quay and is a Pub with rooms. Room we had was a family room so more spacious. Dinner was good and well priced. Kirkwall is a small town so you are near everything from this location.โ
โSo pleased to find Murray Arms. It was 5 minutes from our arriving ferry. Upon checkin by Suzanne, we were assigned private off-road parking. Our room for 3 nights was comfortable. The staff was exceptionally warm and welcoming for all - babies, dogs, and patrons. The meals in their restaurant were first class. They have dive boats for scallop harvesting. Our scallop dinner was the best EVER!โ
โThis was just an overnight after driving up from Dornoch and getting on the ferry to Orkney at Gills Bay the next morning. However Eilean and Graeme greeted us in the parking area and helped us move into our room. Provided us with lots of info on their property and where to eat. Our room was very comfortable and breakfast in the morning had lots of variety and our choices were delicious. โ
