The welcome in the pub wasn’t great, we weren’t acknowledged whilst standing with our bags in the pub. “Beautiful surroundings, the room was lovely breakfast choice excellent”

“Loved the mood of the place, middle of nowhere in the midst of some beautiful countryside. Gardens were top notch but weather sadly precluded their use. Staff were helpful and room spotless. Only slight downer is that the shower was scalding. Could not get cold water into the shower. Only there for 1 night so not a big deal. Parking easy and EV charger useful. Breakfast was tasty and well presented. Much to like about the Manor. 👍Recommended.”

Tom, the host, was a real gentleman and couldn’t do enough to help, which made the stay even more enjoyable. “Main issues were a) the "bistro" and bar area looked nothing like the pictures on the website. Most of the dining tables had been replaced by a pool table and dart boards. Broken or unused furniture was piled up at the side of the room. After taking one look, we decided that eating here was not an option. Similar unwanted furniture etc was piled up on the stairs to the second floor. All in all, there is no way this could be described as a tidy place b) our room was immemdiately above the bar....

“Friendly, helpful, welcoming staff. Comfortable rooms with good ensuite facilities at a great price. Restaurant has excellent dishes at good prices and the bar serves a good range of drinks again at good prices. A Continental Breakfast is included and there is no cooked breakfast option. The only drawback is the lack of a lift and one or two floors are a bit unveven but to be expected at over 400 years old. ”

“The site did not indicate sign in was 3 to 6. Also, Google showed a pub AND a B&B. We arrived at 8 pm. to a locked door. Arrival was swift after a phone call but is not guaranteed. After that, the room was spotless, lots of extra touches. The lady at breakfast was lovely, and you choose it at sign in with numerous extras available.”
