"We liked it so much that we extended our stay for two nights! Food is diverse and delicious especially for a All Inclusive. Sit down restaurants are very good but you do need to book with time. Staff is so friendly and welcoming! I absolutely love the hotel. Can’t wait to be back next year! I’d have paid for the Premium package if I knew the differences before booking! Is not very clear when you book though Expedia!"

"We booked 2 rooms at the Caribe and upon arrival we found out that it was changed to Colonial without advanced notice. Drinks at the 2 pool bars were watered down (1 in particular served drinks that were sugar laced and flat). Food at the buffets were stale and obviously constantly re-heated with the same selections each day. Rooms were dated . My tv had a cracked screen, flickering lights in the bathroom and USB charging ports did not work with limited outlets. Lawn sprinkler was aimed directly at our sliding door."

"The property is beautiful and the food and spa were amazing. We upgraded and got access to a special restaurant, the sauna, steam room and hot tub in the spa every day. It was beautiful! Juan and Jose the bellmen were very helpful and Alan at check in was great! Angeles at the buffet was so sweet and the entire staff made sure I had a great birthday!"

"We recently stayed at Barceló Maya Beach and had a good overall experience. The beach is had seaweed but we walked over to the colonial beach and it was much better, the grounds are well maintained, and there are plenty of activities for children. What really stood out was the exceptional service. A special thank you to Selene at the breakfast buffet, who always greeted us with a smile and made our mornings enjoyable. Ileny at the pool provided outstanding service and was incredibly attentive throughout our stay. We also had a great time with Gabriel from the entertainment team—he brought so much energy and fun to the daily activities! The reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is that some areas of the hotel feel a bit outdated and could benefit from renovations. However, the excellent staff and beautiful resort amenities more than made up for it. Overall, we had a great vacation and would recommend Barceló Maya Beach to families and anyone looking for a getaway with kids in the Riviera Maya."
