“The Corners Inn is a hidden gem. Fantastic old bar and dining room with real character. High quality breakfast - you can tell real care has been taken sourcing ingredients. Bedrooms are in a new annex, so spacious and quiet. Would love to find an excuse to go back!”

“It is a comfortable hotel with a slightly old fashioned feel, but it is a historic building and the staff are cheerful and helpful. My room was clean and the bed was comfortable and I appreciated the heavy curtains to cut out the sunlight. The stairs to the second floor were a bit tricky for an older guest when carrying luggage, although staff would have helped. I would certainly return.”

“This is a converted coaching inn at the junction of a few roads. Easy parking, good breakfasts and dinners, plenty of character. A bit of a downside if you’re a light sleeper with the traffic and kitchen exhaust system. Otherwise, easy place to stay.”

“The room was clean, warm and comfortable. The staff were helpful. Parking was in front of the hotel, off the main street. The village had a few shops and a large town nearby. The hotel has a river at the bottom of the grounds which was lovely to sit near.”

“We had room 6, bejou and spotless. Just 3 little gripes in the bathroom. 1) There is no blind on the window. 2) Mirror over basin is stomach height, husband had to bend double to shave. 3) No shelf for toiletries. Otherwise the hotel is great. The food is FABULOUS. Biggest lamb shank i'd ever had. Breakfast bacon is a must and perfect fried eggs. The staff couldn't have been more helpful. Would definitely stay here again”

“Unfortunately, we had a terrible night's stay here the room was so hot, it was like a sauna. We called down, told nothing could be done. After raising this point the next day, and promised call backs for over a month now, still nothing is done or taken seriously. It is unfortunate as the service at dinner before check in was fab, as were the staff we encountered. It is very disappointing, that even after reaching out to the Royal Oak, they promise to call back or address my concerns, nothing is...

“Second time staying there, lovely old place. Bar well stocked, dinner and breakfast excellent. Given single room at top of hotel - stonking hot but supplied with fan which helped. Bathtub comfortable but needs a grab rail on the wall for those of us less abled to help us climb out. Otherwise can’t fault it!”
