Good size room, clean and modern with a great view of the ocean. 5 min taxi down to the town. Snorkelling and diving gear available from the hotel.
The biggest gripe was the very Americanised approach to tipping. Staff seemed to expect a 15% tip minimum for doing the bare minimum, despite service always being slow. Even for the included breakfast, they made a point every day of telling you that the tip is not included. Breakfasts were disappointing, fruit was always just melon and papaya, never a variety. Eggs were always cold, even though they cook them to order? We never tipped at breakfast, and it felt evident that we were treated differently to people who did. I.e. we were often forgotten about, and didn't always receive things like toast or (watered down) juice which was supposed to be included. Unfortunately, I wouldn't actively recommend this hotel.
