“Stayed here before ideal location for Braintree town centre with its many good pubs and restaurants. The bar is always busy and the restaurant is usually well attended”

“Nice old pub with hotel accommodation. Used for the nearby Houchins Wedding Venue. Bedroom comfortable. Shower a squeeze if you are taller than 6ft, but the trade off is the heritage of the building. Easy parking at rear.”

“Staff are very friendly, food is very good and reasonably priced. The building is lovely and full of character, however the rooms are simply decorated. The location is excellent. Unfortunately, there were no parking spaces when we arrived in the afternoon so we had to park down the street, but parking is free in Long Melford so this wasn't a problem. ”
