"This was one of the best hotel experiences I've had in a decade or more. Every need was anticipated. Front desk staff offered items I needed before I even knew I needed them myself! I availed myself of the outstanding restaurant and bar (Dean's) 2 nights in a row because it was just so good - why leave? Food was outstanding and wait staff were impressive. Knowledgeable, personable, detail oriented. Daily gratis happy hour was delightful. Valets were great at making you feel welcome and attended to. I also sent out my dry cleaning while there and could have also sent out my shoes for shining. Frankly I'd been avoiding Kimpton for several years because they had seemed to lose the real art of hospitality (the many fine touches as outlined above) in favor of trendy decor and hype. This place changed my mind. Unfortunately other Kimpton properties I've visited since did not meet the same standard. Hoping this is the start of a new era for them. If so, this location in San Antonio is THE model to emulate!"
