Eastern Sierra, California hotel rooms at the Independent

"We were welcomed by friendly and helpful staff, but the stay rapidly degraded from there. It was a Friday and the hotel was very busy- people were partying in the parking lot below all the rooms, doing drugs and smoking and drinking anywhere you looked. We were there for two hours and left. We were told we would get a refund, but this has not materialized! Good luck if you choose to stay there!"

"Wi Fi good. Nice size cottage with seating area on porch. Appreciate having a pool, museum, refrigerator, microwave, and especially a washer-dryer-a real selling point for me. Also, having the General Store was a real plus, also it was nice to have shops, and a cute ice cream parlor. Lines were a bit long at the ice cream parlor. It was restricting to have to place reservations for restaurants. Unclear how to get room serviced. Fresh towels were brought upon request; dirty ones remained in room. Sofa bed was tidied. King bed was not. Trash remained in room, and ants came. Had to ask for cleaning. Overall really appreciated the location and amenities. Definitely would stay here again."

"This place is so cool and puts a smile on your face. Right by the lake. Perfect cabin cozy feel and the staff is super nice. The bed is sooo comfortable . I just loved it and will book again. "
