This historic Arkansas town has long been known as a destination for rejuvenation, with day spas and wellness retreats situated in the scenic mountain countryside.

Eureka Springs is located in the heart of the Ozark Mountains in the northwest corner of Arkansas. The town is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It became a popular destination in the early 19th century as a destination for relaxation, and that’s still the case today thanks to Eureka Springs’ many spas.

Eureka Springs is also known for its diverse food scene. Small coffee shops sit next to Cajun cafés and old-fashioned saloons. The town’s history is evident in its many old buildings that make the streets resemble something out of a time capsule. The historic downtown is packed with a variety of venues for night-time entertainment, including live music and dancing. Pine Mountain Theater puts on a family variety show every night, except Sunday, March through December. During the summer, catch a show at Opera in the Ozarks, an annual opera festival held in the mountains. Visit a winery to sample locally made wines.

Main Street is packed with a range of shopping opportunities. Buy anything from handmade quilts to modern art.

The town was once nicknamed “America’s Medicine TeePee” and attracted thousands of visitors looking for a healing experience. Wellness retreats and day spas, such as the Historic Palace Hotel and Bath House, still abound today.

Mountains, rivers, gorges and Beaver Lake, a manmade dam, characterize the surrounding countryside. Take advantage of the outdoors with a water cruise aboard an old-fashioned river boat. Explore at your own pace and rent a canoe for the afternoon, or head underground with a tour at Onyx Cave, a cave system located about 10 miles (16 kilometers) outside town.

See exotic big cats at the Turpentine Creek Wildlife Refuge. Promised Land Zoo has a wide variety of unique species and is a scenic 20-minute drive from Eureka Springs.

Highways connect Eureka Springs with nearby cities. The nearest airport is Carroll County Airport in Berryville, Arkansas, 10 miles (16 kilometers) east of Eureka Springs.
