"So online it looked like breakfast was available for an extra fee, which we selected on Expedia and the price went up. When we went down to breakfast on the first morning they said we didn’t have tickets and to ask the front desk. At the front desk they checked and said we had not selected the breakfast package, and needed to pay extra to do so. On the Holiday Inn website it reads as though you pay 23$ a day for two travellers, then each extra traveller is another 23$ per person. I agreed to pay that fee. On the morning of our checkout, she told me my total was 138$ plus tax. I asked how it was 138$ if it was 23$ a day for 4 days (92$ would have been the total) and she said it was 23$ per person, per day. (Which still isn’t right because that would be 192$). But anyways, ensure when you are booking you call the hotel and discuss breakfast beforehand, because this was an extra expense which we had understood we already paid for. We overheard another couple describing the same problem as well. Other than that, the stay was lovely and the staff was all friendly and accommodating, and the hotel was very clean."

"I had a much better experience during this trip than my two previous ones—they are trying very hard to improve the guest experience. Prior to booking, I looked at reviews and they were as damning as my previous experiences. However, there are very few choices in this part of Toronto and o had no choice but to go there. It takes a while for the reputation to rebuild, and I have to say that this time the negative reviews do not actually reflect the actual experience. I was pleasantly surprised and I would not hesitate to go back. They do have a lingering issue with one elevator being down, and they don’t seem to have solved this problem. We were frustrated by how long it took to catch the elevator. A hotel with 21 floors can’t function well with just 2 elevators. Everything else was fine."
