“Spent 5 nights with a friend, we were in the VI celebrating my birthday. Hotel is pretty ran down and outdated, pool is VERY small. Complimentary breakfast was good, you choose from a menu each morning what you would like. Staff was helpful, but I wouldn’t say they were kind. More dismissive than anything. One of the nights the hotel had little to no water pressure and staff arranged for us to shower in an unoccupied room. Inconvenient, but we were thankful to shower after a long day at the...

“The room was very clean and had great amenities. The staff were incredibly friendly. The space is beautiful and charming. Bartender and Restaurant staff were exceptional and the food was amazing. My only piece of feedback would be to add some lounge chairs near the pool. But next time I come back to St Thomas there is no doubt I’m staying at Hotel 1829! ”

“What a beautiful place to stay on St. John, a great location with outstanding views. The restaurant was wonderful, we had two outstanding dinners and enjoyed after dinner drinks at the bar each evening. Staff was outstanding, friendly and helpful! We are planning to return in 2027!”

“Power went out often on the island, a generator is needed at this property. Out flight was cancelled and we lost a day. I was told we would get credit for that but haven’t received confirmation of that yet. Location is okay, taxi service is a few blocks away, restaurants close. Not sure if I’d return or recommend at this time, still waiting on owner to honor his verbal agreement. But no matter what, a generator is desperately needed to protect a quality experience. ”

“The ocean view King had an incredible ocean view. We stayed for one night for the ease of access to the airport which it is extremely close to the airport. Those are the only two positives I have to share.”

“Most of the staff is not friendly. Communication is horrible. A LOT of hidden fees. Property was very pretty. Only 1 of the 3 pools is kid friendly. Lots of choices to eat on sit. Room was nicely cleaned most of the days. Great views from our balcony. ”
