“I booked room number 5 -newly decorated ,clean room, smell good, staff helpful, we don't drink, and we eat out but I heard the food is very good.I definitely go back .”
“Comfortable room but water pressure in the shower and basin was not adequate. The room was also rather too hot and stuffy, relieved only by keeping the curtains partially open which meant that we had to put up with the car park lighting (which was on most of the night). We suggest asking for a room at the back of the hotel.”
“Loved the beautiful and nicely appointed Blue Room 💙 It was comfortable and had a roomy bathroom with a heated towel bar on a timer. Miss Julie straightened up every day and left us clean towels and topped off the supply of homemade Scottish shortbread.
Breakfast was amazing; continental plus she'll cook anything else you could want. And, there are homemade jams 😋
The former manse is absolutely charming and homey and Miss Julie and Mr. Richard are completely lovely hosts.”
“Large, clean room with great views across to Edinburgh. Staff were great and a special mention goes to the waiter in the restaurant and the breakfast waiter. Really friendly and helpful and nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was fab. The only negative is please don't skimp on toilet paper. That fear of your finger going through causes great anxiety. Spend a little more on quality roll! Parking at the nearby station was easy which makes this place a great base for visits to Edinburgh.”
“We love this hotel! The service standards are impeccable, the rooms are lovely and the bar/restaurant options are excellent. Due to the nature of the venue it's obviously not in the centre of the city however it's a very easy bus or tram ride into town. The complimentary tickets for the Royal Yacht Britannia are a really nice little bonus. We would recommend staying on the Fingal as its just a little bit more interesting than the humdrum of a regular hotel.”
“Although the hotel itself was a tad old fashioned, (it was an old building after all) we loved our stay. Firstly the staff were absolutely amazing, very helpful, the gentleman that checked us in, perfect. He tried several attempts to organize a taxi for us, and we must give a big mention to Tracy, who was so lovely and eventually managed to get us get a taxi to our destination. The rooms were spotless, again staff so accommodating. The cooked breakfast was nice and hot, with most ingredients...
“The upstairs rooms were very nice. The issue was that the room was very small. The room was kept neat and tidy by the staff, which was well appreciated. I would recommend staying at the first or second floor, we read many stories about the basement being very warm due to no a/c or windows. We only wish there was a laundry service and/or washer and dryer and more fans avaliable. The luggage room was also a well done addition!”
“Good clean basic accommodation in a similar standard to P Inn or Travelodge. Free parking in a generously sized car park. Good (bus) public transport
connections directly outside for Dunfermline centre or connections to Halbeath P&R just 1.5miles up the road.”
“Superb. A real wow. We loved that you could see Arthur's seat, the parliment and the palace.
The apartment was spotless. And we didn't expect housekeeping everyday, that was a lovely surprise.”
