"We stayed at High Peaks Resort for five nights with two rooms. Overall, we enjoyed our stay, and the staff were excellent. Everyone was friendly, helpful, and very accommodating.
There were, however, several things that I think need improvement. We found black mold in the bathroom tile grout, the used drinking glasses were not never replaced, and the ice buckets were left with melted ice and water from the previous nights with new oice bag replced. The lobby coffee was advertised until 11 AM, but it was often empty and not replenished.
The restaurant food was just so-so, and unlike most of the other places along the strip, the resort does not offer a happy hour. The upstairs restaurant and bar deck overlooking the lake was closed most of the time during our stay, which was disappointing because enjoying that view was one of the reasons we wanted to eat there.
I also requested a one hour late checkout and had to push quite a bit to get it approved. Finally, calling the canoe and paddleboat area a "beach" is misleading because there really is no beach.
We appreciate the excellent staff and had an enjoyable trip overall, but with these issues, I would think twice about staying here again unless some of these areas are improved."
