"The room was not clean upon our arrival. The window in the room, which was located on the first floor, was left open. The pull-out sofa had a blood stain on the mattress, and there was hair in the bed. When we requested additional sheets, the replacement sheets provided were also torn. We spoke with the staff at the front desk multiple times, but they were not helpful or sympathetic regarding the condition of the room. We explained that we were traveling with children and that these conditions were not appropriate for anyone, especially a family with children. We were scheduled to stay for two nights for a dance competition. Due to the late hour and the lack of available rooms elsewhere, we had no choice but to stay the first night. I requested to speak with a manager and asked for something to be done regarding the situation, but the front desk employee stated he could not provide the manager’s contact information and would only relay the message. I informed the staff that we would not be staying the second night and asked not to be charged for that day. I also requested a discount or accommodation for the first night due to the unacceptable conditions and the hardship we experienced. The employee was rude and stated there was nothing he could do. I currently have a $900 charge on my account, including a $500 deposit that I have been disputing with the hotel. The entire experience was horrendous, and I will be escalating"

"The only positive of this place would be the view of the capitol building. The building and rooms are out-dated, but the worst part was the maintenance. The hotel has a lot of issues with hotel card readers on the room doors, which do not work or reset after a day. I had to get a new room the first day because the key card couldn't be read, and then had to go down to the lobby repeatedly, to the key card reset. Other guests were having the same issue. The room that I had had an odd, moldy smell, which was the first thing I noticed. There were a couple stains on the old-looking carpet. The king bed mattress was old and uncomfortable. Half the light bulbs in the room were out. The tv was old and pre-streaming services, and old had cable. It looked like there was supposed to be a full-length mirror next to the room entrace, but it was missing. The bathroom was the worst part. There was mold on the ceiling and stains, possibly mold on the shower curtain. The sink was missing the part that pulls up the stopper, so you just had to reach in and pull the stopper out completely in order for the sink to drain. There was hair all on the walls of the bathtube and inside. There was a roll of toilet paper with like 6 squares on it, and the towels and wash clothes were the thinnest, cheapest towels I have ever seen. It was clear that neither the staff or management care about this hotel. It seems all that time and money went into hiring photographers to make it look good online..."

"Everything was nice and clean. The staff was nice. The only exception upon checking I was not told that they were renovations being done. I was woken up at 8 AM in the morning with banging and drilling which it was an inconvenience to me otherwise, everything was fine."

"To anyone about to stay or thinking about staying at this Best Western Hotel. Be aware that if you book multiple days you will be charged in full instead of one night before you check in even if you stated pay at hotel. Second if you need to check out early on a multiple day stay you will be charged the full stay no matter what the situation was for you leaving early. When things are fine the staff was friendly. But as soon as you need something done, like leave early and get refund for the nights that you did not use, they are not so nice. Front desk clerk was very rude and did care about my situation. He made an already stressful situation worse and I had to pay for two night I never used. Just a shameful practice. The hotel was not even sold out not even close to sold out. I will never stay at this hotel again."

"I reserved the room through Expedia ten minutes before my arrival, but it took nearly an hour for hotel staff to receive the reservation. In the interval, the room I requested was given to a walk-in customer. The staff blamed Expedia's reservation system, but I knew the reservation had been sent to Hilton because I got a partial reservation number. The staff was unsympathetic with my frustration (it was midnight) and advised me next time not to book through a third party. I asked for Hilton's central phone number; the staff ignored my request. The room we eventually got was fine -- spacious, clean and well-lit -- but the price was over $300. Parking was available in an adjacent building, but also more expensive than I would have expected."
