"Went to stay at Mad Monkey for 3 days in the shared dorm for the doublebed room for couples. It was some lovely people and very helpful staf. It has happy hour for 4 hours a day, you get a free drink when arriving and they have aircon in the rooms. The rooms are still warm but feel quite private. We enojyed the pool area, especially at night where you could look at the stars and swim around before going to bed. Bathrooms and showers are shared and looks nice. "For a cheap hostel in Luang Prabang, this was great. I loved that everything was in good walking distance such as the Phosi Hill and the night market, However, some things to consider, this hostel didn't have much in the way of security. We weren't given any key to the front door or room meaning everything was open and anyone could walk in at any time. Also keep in mind that there are no lockers in the room, on top of this the showers and toilets were not very clean, all for £5 a night you can't...

"So the hostel is doing lots of renovations! So the property looks dirtier than the pictures show. There were no towels given but we brought our own. Staff were friendly but the language barrier was a problem. I think once they are done renovating and clean up the property will be beautiful!"

"I had high hopes for this place since the photos looked so nice. But soon became disappointed. I got a single room and the bed was truly awful. I felt I was sleeping on a box spring or something even worse. When I walked in there was hair all over the pillows and the towel they gave me was dirty and brown. "Hostel staff were kind enough to give me welcome drink when checking in. I could rent a bicycle for 100K/24h, so I could go to Blue Lagoon 1 and Tham Chang Cave on my own. Morning Market is held near this hostel. Breakfast was good."

"Got to the hostel and it was total chaos. They showed us 5 rooms before actually finding the one we had booked. Some of the rooms was already ocupied by others, so that made us feel our stuff was unsafem when we got our room, the toilet did not work and there were ants in the bed. We got upgraded after a bit of arguing and the new room was Ok, at best. Stains on the sheets etc. Makes for a not to cosy stay... the shower is completly usless. If your only aim is a bed to sleep in and you do not...

"I only stayed here for 12 hours as a stop point but I almost wish I stayed longer. Very clean, welcoming and comfortable place. Cute theme and good location. Beds are comfortable and allow good space. You get a free coffee or tea once you arrive which is nice. They looked like they had a lot of activities you could do. I would come back."
