This is the cancellation policy as stated on the hotel's website.
"All reservations have a standard fully refundable cancellation policy of 72 hours prior to the date of arrival by 3:00pm, unless stated otherwise on the guest confirmation. All reservations cancelled in advance of the cancellation policy deadline are fully refundable."
Something came up and we needed to cancel the reservation more than 10 days prior to the deadline. The hotel refused to cancel our reservation. I worked with Expedia and I tried to reach out to the hotel, to no avail. I don't understand what was so different about my reservation, Maybe it was some sort of deal they had with Expedia that makes it no cancelable. Expedia would only say, "Sorry, the hotel refused." The hotel is refusing to discuss with me. So I could only speculate as to the reason why. The lesson here seems to be, don't use Expedia to book this hotel if you must and the price is similar; or don't trust the hotel's concellation policy.
