"Pretty overpriced with hidden fees for things I didn’t really want. They have made this pretty nice hotel into a “ resort “ in Monterey. Was hit with very expensive parking fee and a “ destination fee” that resulted in paying 75$ more than I expected. I didn’t want a 12$ glass of wine or a s’mores kit! It’s a very nice location right on the beach which I was looking forward too. But we didn’t get a room with a view. And when I inquired I was informed that would 70$ extra. This was all handled...

"As a California State Park, Asilomar is unique and offers the oceanside nature experience along with comfortable accommodations. The main reception building is magnificent and is very comfortable for a small or large group: conversation, playing pool, listening to the piano, sitting in front of the blazing fire. "We LOVE this place. It’s a short drive to downtown Monterey, fishermans wharf, and Cannery Row/Monterey Bay Aquarium. There is also a nice shopping center across the street with a Petco, Whole Foods, and other shopping restaurants. There is easy access to the 1 which will take u to Carmel,17 Mile Drive, Big Sur, and several state parks. As for the hotel, the rooms are modern and clean, but the beds are a bit firm. We’ve stayed here twice in a

townhouse suite, which is kind of amazing....
