As a travel professional, I had high expectations for Presidente InterContinental Cozumel, especially considering the reputation of the InterContinental brand and the prices charged at this resort. The property itself is beautiful, and the location is one of its strongest points. However, several aspects of the experience did not match the luxury pricing. The food lacked variety and became repetitive, and service was consistently slow. We also found that amenities and basic items were not always properly stocked or readily available. Another major concern was the pricing. Food and beverages throughout the property were extremely expensive for what was offered. For example, a simple Canada Dry sparkling water was $5.25 USD. I understand that resort pricing is typically higher, but at these prices, I would expect a much higher level of service, greater food variety, and better attention to detail. From a travel-agent perspective, value is just as important as having a beautiful property. Presidente InterContinental Cozumel certainly has a gorgeous setting, but the high prices, limited food variety, slow service, and lack of consistently stocked amenities made the overall experience feel overpriced for the level of service received. For travelers considering this resort, I would recommend budgeting significantly more than expected for food and beverages.
