I stayed at this hotel because I had a dog with me. The staff was overall great and very friendly. However, even though dogs are allowed, the hotel is not actually very dog friendly. There were no easy way to feed the dog or wash the bowls, there was no dog bed, the rooms were a long way from the exit, the car park is really awkward and very few spaces are available, making travelling with a dog and all the stuff that comes with it quite difficult. In particular, there is a lack of green space around the hotel with not a single accessible lawn (the closest park is a 10 min walk), making it very difficult to stay there with a dog who won't "do their thing" on concrete.
The rest is okay, but there are lots of little things that made my stay not comfortable and that I find important:
- The water in the shower was only lukewarm and the water pressure was very very low.
- Breakfast was really not very nice, particularly when looking at the price. The amount of things available, including hot food, were good, but it just all didn't taste good at all.
- The mattress felt old and springy and I did not sleep well on it.
- The busy road and busy pub make it noisy when the window is open.
Overall, this was an okay stay (and really, the staff was amazing, so I feel bad criticising the hotel!), but I think some investment in infrastructure would be really good.
