"There is no onsite staff to help with anything but bilingual (Japanese/English) signs with clear instructions are everywhere for guests be self-sufficient -- very well done.
I booked the double-room, smoking (only option remaining) and got room 408.
What I liked:
- despite being a smoking room, the hotel did a very good job at deodorizing it (room almost didn't smell like cigarette smoke);
- free 24hr laundry (there are two machines);
- free cloak space (to lock up your luggage);
- free sauna from 9am to 5am (close for four hours between 5am and 9am) -- too bad it is only for men (my partner was disappointed);
- very close (~7min walk) to the Oji station;
- access to fresh towels at any time; and
- self check-out at 1pm!!!
What I did not like:
- room size was okay but the toilet/bath/shower was very small;
- bed was okay (frame felt weak/unstable and mattress was barely enough);
- sound easily travelled through floors -- I clearly heard the upstairs guest move the desk several times a night and it kept me awake; and
- no free access to the co-working area."
