The Plim Plaza is a great old beach hotel. Not the place if you’re looking for super luxury and room service, but a perfect place for a clean room with clean towels, a fridge & microwave to spend time when you’re not on the beach or enjoying OC restaurants or entertainment. It has a really nice pool too.

Location was great. View was great. The windows were extremely dirty, even in the hallways. Very tiny room. Not everything was open yet, probably because we weren't in peak season yet. I wish I would've paid more and stayed at a nicer place, but we were safe. Walls were thin so we could hear everything around us.

Check in was easy, gentleman was kind. There looked to be workers sleeping on the couches which was surprising. I was happy to have a beach view from my window. That was a plus. However, in room 319 the left window would not stay open. The windows were dirty. Room was small and outdated. The room looked like it has never been dusted. Build up on windows, toilet paper holder, headboards. Hair in tub and on toilet. Bed was hard. On the plus side, GREAT location. I did enjoy the rocking chairs.

Rating: 2/5 Title: Great staff and location, but cleanliness let us down The staff here were fantastic when we had an issue with our first room — they quickly moved us to another one the next night, no hassle. However, the lack of cleanliness was hard to overlook. Our first room smelled strongly of mold, was visibly dirty, and had noticeable fluids on the mirrors and fixtures. The bathroom had urine stains and other people’s hairs in the shower. On top of that, the AC didn’t work. The second room was better, but still just okay — not as clean as it should be. On a positive note, the hotel’s location is great, and the on-site restaurant and bar were a lot of fun. The crab balls were awesome! If you plan to stay here, I’d highly recommend requesting a room on the 5th floor that’s already been renovated. The staff will try to help, but the housekeeping needs serious improvement.
