Bournemouth Highcliff Marriott Hotel

"We went as two families during Easter weekend. The staff were great! The hotel is in an ideal location, right on the seafront and within minutes of Bournemouth pier, which was great for us as we had lots planned in the area. The only down side was the breakfast on our second morning, there was a bit of a chaotic feel as the hotel was at full capacity, the staff seemed a little frazzled. There was no food in the buffet when we headed down at 10am, which was ridiculous as there was still an hour of service to go, so we had to stand around waiting for the food to be replenished. We heard quite a few people around us complaining about having waiting 15 mins for pancakes and eggs… then the tables were not being cleaned quickly inbetween so there was a long queue waiting to be seated. When we were, the area around our table was very dirty. They definitely needed more staff if they knew they were at full capacity. Other than this, we had a great stay. The hotel had put on some fun activities for the children for Easter and there was a hot chocolate station all weekend which the kids loved. The rooms were super clean too and very spacious. We loved our stay and recommended it to our friends who then went the following weekend and had an equally great time."

"We enjoyed the beach view from Cyan restaurant. The choice of drinks both alcoholic and non alchoholic was very good. We didnt try the cocktails, but our friend, who met us for dinner, said that her friends recommended them when she had been to special occasions previously."

"A lovely welcome from the reception staff, who are all very friendly and efficient. Good breakfast, as the bacon & sausage were superb. The bedroom (a privilege room) was fairly small but had a balcony which would have been useful in decent weather, the bathroom is a reasonable size and nice. The cool box doesn’t seem too efficient & our drinks weren’t particularly cold. No drawer space, which is very annoying and, to use the kettle or coffee maker, you have to put them on the floor, where the plug is ( neither had a cable long enough to reach a plug, which is pretty ridiculous). I’m a little annoyed by the upgrade offer. I took up a £15 per night offer, but heard the reception staff offering upgrades for 10 per night, so feel a little ripped off."
