“A great place to stay! The hotel combined two of the officer's quarters from Fort Seward to make a beautiful building. While the building is from the early 1900s, it is beautifully maintained. The owner is very helpful - he went so far as to dig out a socket wrench to help me with an errant piece of photo equipment. Would definitely stay here again. ”

“First room had an inop TV. Broken window. Missing refrigerator and a leak in the bathroom ceiling that dripped water and had been there long enough for black mold to form. Second room was ok”

“The kitchen had almost everything I needed including a tiny dishwasher. The few items that were missing were quickly replaced when I asked at the desk. The room had a lot of space and we didn’t hear other people thru the walls. Staff are all helpful and friendly. The beds are also remarkably comfortable and I typically do not sleep well in hotel beds. ”

“The facility started by acknowledging that they charge a resort fee only to raise the cost up outside of Expedia. Then three days I did not even see housekeeping in the halls. I was told they haven’t been showing up. Maintenance came in made a mess in the bathroom for the guest to clean up and the breakfast was microwave breakfast sandwiches sold separately coffee was never available although there was a pot ”

While the hotel advertises itself as the oldest hotel in Juneau, its age really shows, and the property is in serious need of refurbishment and updating. the headboards and phone had a thick layer of dust! One of the biggest issues was the noise. The bar downstairs played extremely loud music until 1:00 a.m. every night, and even noise-canceling headphones did not block it out. Getting a good night’s sleep was nearly impossible. There is also no elevator, so...
