“Lovely hotel set in beautiful grounds. Flower borders were just lovely! Room (twin deluxe) was spacious, comfortable and clean. One note, we were in room 216 which had view over cafe at back, which was really pretty so not a problem. However, deliveries started unloading at 6am in the morning which wasn't great. The hotel is so close to Beamish working museum, very handy. Few good pubs in the area too.”

“The staff here are absolutely wonderful creating a real home from home! The food in the restaurant was top notch and the drinks were served with care and attention. There was a lack of any kind of “ale” from the bar (neither bottles or cans) but that was the only missing item really. “Check-in smooth, although the receptionist charged us for breakfasts over two nights for one room (4 breakfasts) as opposed to breakfasts over one night for two rooms (3 breakfasts) as requested. One room was quite run-down (broken towel rail, tired fittings, etc.) and very noisy with the floor boards in the upstairs room creaking whenever someone walked on them.
