"A great hotel . We had a one bedroom suite. Thou it wasn't an ocean view. we were high enough (6 floor) to see the ocean (cruise ship went by) and the mountains. It's right on the beach and a close walk to town . It's the best place to stay in parksville (my opinion )"

What are some of the general tips for travelers to Vancouver Island during the COVID-19 outbreak?
COVID-19 has ushered in huge changes to the way we travel. If you plan to visit Vancouver Island, these tips will help you navigate these new rules and challenges:
  • Look into what, if any, rules or restrictions apply to both your origin and destination. It may not be possible to travel depending on local circumstances, so don't forget to check before you book your flight.
  • Requirements state you must wear a face mask at the airport, even at screening checkpoints. You should be prepared to adjust your mask for ID purposes when asked.
  • Instead of handing a TSA agent your boarding pass, position it directly on the reader yourself. Once that's done, hold it up for inspection.
  • You're allowed to take one container of hand sanitizer up to 12 oz (350 ml) in your carry-on bag. This will need to be removed for X-ray scanning.
  • Put any personal items (like your phone, wallet and keys) in your carry-on instead of a bin to minimize handling during screening.
  • Transport all food items in a clear plastic bag and also put them in a screening bin. Separating food from your carry-on means it's less likely a TSA employee will need to open your bag for inspection.
