“Firstly Purdy Lodge is right on the side of the A1 but surprisingly you can not hear any road noise. The staff were so pleasant and welcoming and couldn’t do enough to help. The rooms were well decorated, clean and tidy. The bed was comfortable. The food in the restaurant was beautifully prepared and well presented and reasonably priced. The location is central to all the attractions in Northumberland. It is dog friendly,I wouldn’t hesitate to stay there again and would recommend it to anyone...
“We stayed for 3 nights in the Hetton bedroom.
Very clean, lovely bathroom and comfy bed.
Just the pillows that I didn’t get on with.
Breakfast was great, plenty of choice both hot and cold.
On two of our three evenings we ate in the inn and the food was great, cannot fault any of it.
Lovely, friendly staff.
Great position for travelling to all the sights in Northumberland.
We will definitely stay again.”
“We were a family of 3 plus a cockapoo staying in The Tweed. The room was perfect for us. Loved the decor and attention to detail. It was nice to sit in the sun in the morning in the little garden with a coffee and listen to the birds.
We had dinner and breakfast in the pub. The food was ok but the service could have been better. We booked in advance and were seated straight away but we found nobody came over to ask if we wanted drinks and we ended up having to stand in the queue at the bar....
