My experience at Showboat Atlantic City was disappointing overall. The hotel appears to be severely understaffed. I booked 6 rooms, but at check-in only 2 rooms were ready. We then had to wait an additional 3 hours for the remaining 4 rooms to become available, which was extremely frustrating, especially for a large group.
The check-in process itself took a very long time due to the lack of staff. Another major issue was the hotel Wi-Fi. It was so slow that my cellular data connection was consistently faster than the hotel’s internet service.
I will say that the rooms themselves were clean, which I appreciated. However, many areas of the hotel had a strong smoke smell, which made the overall environment less enjoyable.
One positive experience worth mentioning was when I accidentally lost my glasses in the lazy river at the waterpark. The staff members were very kind and went out of their way to help me retrieve them, and I was very grateful for their assistance.
Overall, while the hotel has a great location and fun attractions, the understaffing, delayed room availability, slow Wi-Fi, and smoke odor throughout the property made this a disappointing stay. I hope management addresses these issues because the hotel has a lot of potential."
