“It was nice ”

“It's a lovely place, nice room, basic and small but served our purpose. Very firm matrases, closer to hard. Good English breakfast but not much else. There were 2 issues only. One is that in a twin room you can't really use a wardrobe, it's very tight spacing and it just doesn't open as the bed is next to it (you can't move the bed either, no space). And at 7.00 fire alarm went off in our room. That seriously disrupted my sleep and turned out to be something in the kitchen. No one even went down...

Nice stay nice pub nice staff although and I booked this B&B on the reviews I read (only the top 4 when viewing) if I had seen more reviews on the fact that they didn't do breakfast unless you book directly with them I would of chosen somewhere else. Also noted when leaving/checking-out the property you do so via the night entrance which the stairs down are very steep and you must be very careful if you have heavy or a large case with you. All that being said I did enjoy my stay.”

“Graham & Kay are lovely hosts. The Palmerston Rooms are decorated in a symbolic style to the building but there are modern touches. Would definitely stay there again”

“The property was pretty central, walking distance to eateries and shops, good parking. Stuart was very welcoming and helpful, breakfast was your choice, plentiful, freshly cooked and my room was spotless, cosy bed and hot shower. I liked it a lot.”

“When we arrived at the Griffin, to our surprise, our reservation was canceled. Apparently, the Griffin had a water leak and were in the process of repairing the damage. They said that an email was sent to us canceling our reservations 2 days prior. We were on a cruise at the time and did not get this email because we had no service while on the cruise. It was a very unfortunate situation. We are from the USA and found out upon arrival in England that our cell phones were not working properly so...

“Lovely stay in a charming part of the new forest. The owner was wonderful and the breakfast we were served was so nice and made it feel very worth it to have stayed. ”

“A cosy sea front hotel above a pub. Room 404 had superb bay window for admiring the view of the beach and sea across to The Spinaker Tower. The room is bright ,warm plenty of lights, mirrors and storage. A few things are a bit tired, curtains don't close properly, chest of drawers damaged and sink worn but comfortable bed and efficient shower over bath .Friendly staff and guest entrance when staff not on duty. Good value .”

“Great location, close to the high st. Good breakfast and really comfy bed, nice room (no4) let down by the bathroom though which is small with a poor layout and needs a refurb, we’d definitely stay again with the hope that the bathroom might be sorted.”

“Fantastic place. Lucky enough to find The Fox after being let down by The Running Horse and were delighted. All the staff particularly Annie & Liz (at breakfast hope I got the right name) were absolutely brilliant. The room was superb - huge, every possible convenience & spotlessly clean. Both bedroom & bathroom beautifully decorated; great bath & shower. Sadly didn’t have dinner as had reservations elsewhere but judging by breakfast it would have been very good. Definitely returning and...
