“Nice room well maintained, comfortable with all the amenities.”

“We booked late and knew the reviews weren’t great, but the stay was far worse than expected. Check in involved long queues, and when we finally got to our rooms, the rooms were doubles but should have been twins. Housekeeping couldn’t be reached and left a message as instructed, and when we returned later that evening, nothing had been changed. One room also had a strong drain smell. Reception told us housekeeping had finished at 3pm and that the hotel was fully booked, so no room move was...

I would also like to commend the night staff, who were exceptionally professional, understanding, and accommodating throughout our stay. However, our experience in Room 11 was deeply unsettling. During the night, my partner was abruptly woken and believed she had been physically touched, which caused her considerable distress. “Gorgeous location. Big room with comfy bed and good bathroom. Cosy bar and we enjoyed a lovely meal. Nice walk into the tiny village for cafe and another pub. Good value. If you’re not a dog person it’s worth noting there were a lot of guests with dogs.”

Perfectly situated for the coast, we visited Scarborough, Robin Hoods Bay and whitby; and for York and Harrogate. Would definately stay here again if we find ourselves in that part of the country again!!”

“The room was a good size and the bed was comfortable, but the property was very run down. There was wall paper coming off the walls in the toilet and there were very worn/old carpets everywhere. No toilet paper in the toilet. The room was also noisy as next to the main road. I definitely wouldn't stay there again until the property was refurbished.”

“Lovely clean rooms. Very quiet, despite a road being close by. Food was excellent and a wide range of options at really reasonable prices. Staff were really helpful, the guys at the check in, bar and restaurant could not have been more attentive. A great find and we shall return.”

“Amazing welcome at reception, really lovely scent on arrival! The room was pretty warm but that's mainly because of the beautiful morning sun blazing away. The sea, castle and landscape views were absolutely stunning. Great conversation set up in the window for tea and surfer watching. Well worth paying for parking on busy days. Spotlessly clean housekeeping deserve a raise. ;)”
