ibis budget Zurich City West

"You have to accept that hotels in Zurich are expensive. So this is not going to be anything better or worse than an Ibis Budget room elsewhere. That said, having stayed in a few of the chain now, you can do far worse and in rooms which cost more. They have almost everything you need. Most importantly, a comfortable bed, a quiet room and blinds that actually block out light so if you don't want to wake up at dawn, you don't have to. They have air con that actually responds to your settings as well, not to be sniffed at. The only frustration is they also have stickers asking you not to use the room kettle for cooking food nor to partake of any cooking in your room. What kettle? I would have loved a kettle. Just for a cup of tea. As a Brit, not to have the means for a brew is a serious business. So that was a real shame, especially considering the stickers warning you of the dangers of misusing something which was completely absent. Breakfast is extra on most rates, if you want to avoid spending on it, there is a nearby COOP where you can buy coffee and pastries or fruit at a reasonable price. Travel to and from the airport is a breeze; Hardbrucke station is on the direct S Bahn line. The area is an old industrial area which has been redeveloped so not the most beautiful but that said, it's good for tram access and a short walk to the river. There are several restaurants in the area if eating out."

"The check in process was easy. The hotel is in a great location, off the public tranportation line, close to a grocery store and a wonderful Italian restaurant next door. My room was clean, comfortable and had what I needed. The hotel offered a gym which was great. I definetly would stay again."

"Arrived and found staff friendly and pleasant. The hotel lobby appeared clean and well appointed. Check in was easy, and found our room to be spacious and pretty clean. Did find a spider Webb and small spider above the window curtains at the ceiling, but otherwise no cleaning issues. Bed was two single beds pushed together, which was kind of disappointing since I booked a queen room, but we made doo and the bed was comfortable. There was A/C and I turned it down as low as possible but still felt warm. We ate at the hotel restaurant and found the food adequate but not amazing, except for the dessert, it was really good. Best part was that the hotel is connected to the terminal at Zurich Airport, so it was a quick walk to terminal check in 1. Also the hotel was very quiet with no airport noise. Good night sleep."

"Very clean, helpful and friendly staff, requested two more towels and got them immediately. Had dinner at the chalet, Resto on location and the food was delicious. Thou be prepared for Swiss city pricing. Don’t forget that you have to pay for water in a restaurant."

"A really friendly hotel which was perfect for families with young children. The reception staff were always helpful. I was always able to get warm milk for my toddler who drinks from a bottle. Swimming pool was also perfect for the children. Breakfast variety wasn’t great but none the less everyone was fed."
