“Saw very few staff around. Couple of times reception was deserted for prolonged periods and no one was on the bar either. Maybe just low staffing levels that weekend. Staff we did encounter were friendly. Hotel is clean but a little old fashioned with its decor and felt slightly shabby in the corridors. Room had comfortable beds and a great refurbished bathroom.
Parking was plentiful & it’s in a very convenient location. Would stay again if needed to be in the area”
“Room was clean staff very friendly and helpful, breakfast was good only problem was the room was too hot and when I opened the window all I could here was people shouting in the street and the trams. But will stay again.”
“Helpful staff & smooth check in.
We didn’t have breakfast so can’t comment on that.
The pub itself was good for food competitively priced, which can be ordered thru the app (along with drinks)
The drinks we had an issue with - there were drinks on the app that weren’t available at the bar, the glasses had lipstick marks on them so washing is an issue & we were served a Fentiman’s Dandelion & Burdock drink 6 months out of date so stock rotation is a problem here.
Our room only had a fan to keep...
“The room wasn't serviced during our stay.
Wifi could seldom be accessed.
Toilet often needed flushing more than once.
Wash Basin Taps were difficult to turn on and particularly off.
No glass to rinse your mouth out after cleaning your teeth.
£147 for 2-nights is grossly over priced when the board on the side of the A47 says rooms from £39.95, which would be more realistic for this particular lodge.
Website showed croissants to be available for breakfast, but there never was any.”
“A cheap and cheerful night on the outskirts of Derby. The hotel is rather hidden away and not well signposted.
I checked in, room was clean with tea/coffee available.
The rooms are single storey, bungalow style
There is parking right outside of the rooms”
“My and my friends stayed for 2 night , staff were very nice and helpful.
Walking distance everything you need.
Good pubs and restaurants and of course Cathedral and castle.
Breakfast was excellent with amazing views.
Parking is a little bit of tricky.”
