If it's your first time traveling during the COVID-19 outbreak, you'll notice a raft of new rules and restrictions in place. Follow these tips and make your journey to Barossa Valley go off without a hitch:

• Before booking your flight, find out if any travel restrictions or bans apply — in both your origin and destination. Get the latest updates by checking official government websites.
• When you pass through airport screening, do not remove your face mask. You will be required to briefly lower it to confirm your identity. Those who refuse to wear a mask may be fined and denied entry.
• To reduce the likelihood of cross-contamination, position your boarding pass on the reader yourself and then hold it up for inspection. Do not hand your boarding pass directly to a TSA employee.
• TSA is now permitting passengers to take one container of hand sanitizer, up to 12 oz (350 ml) in size, in carry-on luggage. This will need to be removed from your bag and submitted for screening.
• To minimize handling during the screening process, place personal items such as your wallet, phone and belt into your carry-on instead of the bins.
• Separate any food you're carrying for screening. Food items often set off the alarm. Placing them in a clear plastic bag and into a bin reduces the need for a TSA officer to touch and inspect your belongings.
