A 90 second walk to the beach (Norfolk Beaches) which is almost an isolated area its self. Nothing like Va Beach or OC Md where people are on top of each other - we were 100 yards from the closest family AND they have lifeguards.

โThis was out second stay at Smithfield Inn. It is a beautiful inn. The staff was very nice & hospitable. The first time we stayed we ate breakfast in the inn dining room which was much better than the bakery/cafe where your abreast now.โ
โThe guy at check-in was an a**, very rude and acted like he didnโt really want me there. He told me the wrong room and someone had their door open when we walked by, doing drugs. I wouldnโt stay there again and no one should unless you enjoy a ghetto type scene.โ
โBeautiful setting in Colonial Williamsburg - if you are fairly mobile, this is great spot within the Colonial area so you can walkl everywhere. The spa gym building is separate but it is a pretty walk behind the sister hotel Williamsburg Inn where you check inn. The place itself was a good sized room and we slept 5 of us for this last minute stay and we normally get separate roomed suites, but this worked fine and was more budget friendly. โLots of walkable,delicious restaurants nearby. Oceanfront room was comfy. It is an older hotel,so naturally there is some wear and tear, however, the hotel room was clean, it has a great location by the inlet and staff is always helpful and friendly. I have stayed at this hotel a few times when I have visited over the past 18 years, as well as, other more expensive hotels along the boardwalk. And really, compared to others that cost more, this is the best value. โ
