"We chose this hotel due to the great reviews. We were visiting Springfield with our grandchildren. Pros: The price - Our stay was very affordable. The decor - Very fun, retro, tropical vibe Room placement - our room was very accessible to the pool and the breakfast area. Cons: Upon entering, the front desk staff did not welcome us in, but rather continued a conversation between themselves, not looking up at us. Not a good first impression. We had leftover pizza in our refrigerator and a box of tissue in the bathroom with literally one tissue remaining. Also not a good first impression. Bathroom was very small. The stainless shower fixture was complicated - a handheld nozzle, a rain head, and another wall mounted head. Could have been very cool, but it took a while to figure it out, especially the kids. Instructions would have been nice. Also, the stainless finish had rust spots. The pools were nice, but not monitored. The indoor pool was full of unruly middle school/junior high kids without supervision (they brought the "wet floor" banana signs into the pool and proceeded to dump water OUT of the pool onto the concrete). Our grandkids did not feel comfortable with all the wild kids in the pool. Posted signs said anyone under 16 must have adult supervision, but clearly the hotel does not watch this. We were given bracelets for pool entry, but there was no one to check the entrance. Breakfast - lots of options, probably not the healthiest, but typical hotel breakfast fare."

Economy Suites Springfield - Extended Stay

"Property was obviously under renovation. The exterior was a work in progress. Our room was clean, the bed was extremely comfortable. Air conditioning was great, The room needs a closet or somewhere for hanging clothes. Wi-Fi worked well. Overall, it was a pleasant trip and we would definitely recommend it and would stay there again."

"Iconic hotel which was very good with a few minor hiccups. We were traveling with 2 teenagers (girl & boy) who needed separate beds when we found this "family" room! It has a king-size bed plus a bunk-bed! The hotel room was very clean. Front-desk staff was very patient & helpful. Parking is in front of your room. Internet was a little slow for our room (422) and the TV in the main room was TINY. Also, I feel like it would be helpful to have a TV with a sleep timer! Property was clean and the breakfast was good although the breakfast area is small. They replenished the food items until the actual closing of the breakfast serving time which most places just let it run out 30 minutes prior to closing. 4.8 (out of 5 stars) in my opinion."

"The room was spacious. Staff were friendly and helped when needed. The air conditioner was very loud in the room of the suite, which was bothersome to sleeping. The fridge also made a loud humming noise periodically. The tub didn’t drain well and there was an odd stain at the bottom of the tub but otherwise the water pressure was nice, towels were clean and aplenty. Breakfast was good and well stocked."
