“This review is for the Great Sand Dunes LODGE Pros: Newly remodeled bathrooms. Beds were comfortable. Microwave, frig, and TV in room worked. Cons: Sliding doors hard to slide and lock. Slider screen was ripped. Wife questioned whether bed linens were fresh. Breakfast is light (packaged muffins, packaged juice, cereal). No other food available. (Make sure you bring your own food.) Office was closed from 7 pm to 8 am. For $220/night this place is kind of run down.”

“The only reason that I didn't give them four stars is that there was so much light on the front of the building that you could not sit on the chairs and see any stars. I assumed that a place called dark skies would have lights that are motion sensored or more dim so that you could take in the night sky, so we walked about a block down the road to see the stars. Also, the floors are very thin and we could hear every footstep from the neighbors upstairs. The room itself was fine. Very clean and...

“It was a really nice place. In our case there was no one else there so we were able to hang out in the main downstairs area which was pretty nice. The staff we needed help from were very responsive as well. I honestly would recommend staying here as the views from the front porch at night and during sunset are amazing!”
