“Barking dog waking me up”

“The room was a sea view and very big . We asked for parking but the space was inadequate to get into tbh . Although the hotel was good for the town and the room was adequate, I would say it’s very dated . Some of the decor wasn’t particularly great ie lampshade falling off , broken toilet roll holder . Also windows were quite dirty, hand marks . Saying that the room was clean and tidy”

“Met by overwhelming smell of air freshener which was clearly meant to cover up something possibly fresh paint. Made it a bit difficult to sleep normally. Then shower collapsed into itself but too late in evening to get fixed. Could not shower in the morning and receptionist not remotely interested when we informed him. No hint of recompense for not having a basic requirement of any hotel. Unbelievably disappointing experience”

“Lovely hotel by the sea We stayed at the Langstone Cliff hotel before a concert at Powderham castle. We arrived early afternoon and decided to have lunch on the terrace overlooking the sea. Lunch was lovely and the drinks were cold. Having parasol’s kept us cool on a very hot day. Our room was lovely, quite small but had everything we needed and the air con was an added bonus. “No frills and small rooms but ok for somewhere to have an overnight stay in a convenient location. Breakfast could have been better but staff were friendly and we didn’t expect anything more.”

“Very old and dated facilities and the gym equipment is awful. All clean and comfortable and helpful staff but not an enjoyable place to stay. Stops serving food at 7:30”
