“We had an excellent stay at this beautiful hotel. The room was particularly clean and comfortable and the shower was just amazing. The overall decor of the hotel is beautiful, with exceptional attention to detail. The staff were very friendly and efficient. Breakfast was cooked to order and was excellent. ”

“Amazing place. We had a very relaxing stay.”

“Love this historical village hotel! The staff were AMAZING! The cuisine was delectable! We could not be more delighted! Excellent value and hospitality!”

“A gorgeous manor house-style hotel with so much charm! The staff were really helpful and welcoming, the bar was cosy and the continental breakfast was lovely. There are beautiful walks nearby, and the town is only a 10-minute drive away. Would happily recommend!”

“De accommodatie was heel fijn en zeer rustig gelegen in het bos. Voor sfeer en gezelligheid is het een 10 op 10. Het was een prettig verblijf voor 2 nachten en uitstekend gelegen ten opzichte van Ballatar en omgeving.”

“The Sweet Donside Cabins are a little piece of heaven in Scotland, everything we could possible need was provided, we stayed in the Little Love Nest and the way it was decorated was absolutely amazing the added touches of pictures and ornaments was second to none, Lizzie and Brent are amazing hosts. Everything was spotless, the hot tub was ready as soon as we arrived and was such a treat with the lights all around the decking area. Each cabin is very private even though they are next to each...

“The property in Ballater is in a fantastic location, making it easy to explore the surrounding area. It was also incredibly well kept and clean, which made for a very comfortable stay.”

“We enjoyed all the comfort and atmosphere of an old inn, but with every modern convenience. The food was superb in the restaurant, and the full breakfast was as well. The common room was a cozy area with a fire, comfortable seating, and games!”

“Hotel did not do breakast - thought I had booked bed and breakfast. Turned on the evening to be told they don't do evening meals, member of staff pointed to a microwave and toaster and referenced a shop that was closed to buy stuff. Next evening, a saturday, they were serving evening meals was told they did server evening meals. Whether they only seve meals at the weekend or short staffed I don't know.”

“Reception staff very nice and helpful, nothing to much bother . Room was well equipped regarding wardrobes and drawers . Nice and cosy . Unfortunately we were in a ground floor room and window did open but didn’t stay in position, improvised with the use of tying a scarf . Beds were comfortable, alas we usually strip beds in the morning on vacating room, , mattress cover badly stained , and next layer too , reluctant to go beyond this. Sheets , duvet etc lovely and clean so if we hadn’t...

“We were rented the family bedroom that had its own private bath, a double bed and three singles. It was a great place to stay. Huge kitchen for everyone and lots of seating. Parking was a bit tight.”

“We are gutted to write this review as we stayed here previously and had a lovely stay but sadly the hotel has gone downhill, and I think that’s putting it politely. On the surface it looks great, but there were to many issues to say we’d ever think about returning. Firstly the leisure facilities, one of the main reasons we booked here, looks good but when you’re in the water is murky and doesn’t feel clean. The outdoor hot tub and sauna gets booked out for ‘private’ hire and the whole time we...
