“This is a pub with rooms, so not a hotel. But, wow it is absolutely at the top of the scale for pubs. Room was perfectly clean and had as good a view as you could find anywhere in the world. Location, perfect, parked at the nearby harbour carpark, not overly expensive. Bar staff were great, evening food was great, four real ales on tap, all delicious. Great choice at breakfast and again lovely staff. I would seriously give this accommodation 11 out of 10. 100% recommended.”

“I used The Dolphin Tavern for 1 night with my wife. The location is walking distance from Penzance Station(about 10 minutes.) However, my Google Maps App had problem with the location so it took more than that. The room was great. It might be inconvenient for some people as it does not have any elevators but it seems like only 2 floor building. So, unless you have a large luggage, it won't be a problem. However, due to the Tavern's history the water facility was quite noisy. When I flushed...

“Very clean rooms and friendly hosts. It was quite cool in the evenings with heating only on in the mornings and there was no communal lounge area to sit in so we felt we were confined to our bedroom. ”

“Had a great stay for my boyfriends birthday, the staff were really friendly and helpful, the room had a gorgeous view, short walking distance into town, breakfast was lovely, nice that they had parking for guests. There was live music in the restaurant on the first night we were there, we got 20% off eating in the restaurant, the only thing I'd say was that the menu wasn't particularly vegetarian friendly, there was only one option of a pea and mint pasta which was a bit odd! “Breakfast OK. Not big variety as expected. Hot food is made on demand plus a buffet with cereals, bread, etc. Mattress was worn out and the springs were sticking out, affecting my sleep. Also, too soft mattress. Nice size bathroom but dated. Cold room despite trying to regulate the radiator. Smelly room which has showed that there was no ventilation before my arrival. Thin wall. I could hear the other guest in the other room snoring and moving about. Definitely not 4 star accommodation. ”

Unfortunately, windows covered w scaffolding and workmen starting on our 2nd day, making bathroom without curtains unusable. Reception unhelpful (blamed property company) until the last day of our complaining when they offered a small discount on our stay (but still didn’t cover window).
