Had a late check in due to delayed 8 hour travel day. Once I was near the hotel, I called for directions due to roadwork closures and GPS not recognizing the access issues into the hotel. The front desk kept transferring me to a concierge desk that was closed. I drove in circles for 30 min. Finally arrived at the hotel at 10:30pm to check in to my room. Had to immediately order food and sleep due to a 7am wake up call for work. Went to bed at 12:30am and at 1:30am I was ripped out of sleep to an excruciating and startling fire alarm. I jumped out of bed panicked and ran out of my room to see what was happening. The entire floor was flashing lights and the alarm was screaming through out the halls and all rooms on my floor. A few startled guests were also out of their rooms at this time. I decided to take the stairs 9 floors down to the lobby to see what was happening. When I finally made it down, no one was in sight. Not one employee was at the front desk. I ran outside the hotel to look at the building to see if there was smoke or a fire and I saw from the windows that just my entire floor was flashing emergency lights. I went back inside to the front desk and finally someone was coming out from a side office. I explained what was happening and they had no no idea. I was assured that there was no emergency. I went back to my room and 10 min later the electricity was shut off completely. Pitch black on my entire floor. Power went back on 20 min later. I got 3 hours sleep.
